NAJC chaplains are recognized as essential spiritual care providers, serving as trusted resources within Jewish communities and across healthcare, military, eldercare, corrections, and communal institutions. We envision a future where qualified, compassionate Jewish chaplains are empowered to meet the spiritual needs of all who seek care.

NAJC was founded as the National Association of Jewish Chaplains, establishing itself as the address for Jewish chaplaincy expertise.

In 2014, the organization became Neshama: Association of Jewish Chaplains, reflecting its international membership and commitment to caring for the human spirit—the neshama.
